Now IPPB Bank will also charge for doorstep banking, find out the charges for different services


State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest government bank, has launched a doorstep banking facility for its customers. Since then many government and private banks have also started this facility for their customers. However, customers have to pay charges for it. Also, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has started doorstep banking for its customers. Now the bank is going to implement the change from 1 August 2021. Under this, customers will have to pay a charge for doorstep banking.


India Post Payments Bank does not currently charge its customers for doorstep banking. However, from August 1, 2021, the bank will charge Rs 20 and GST on each request for selected products and services from each of its customers. According to a public notice from the bank, Rs 20 and GST will have to be paid on transfer of funds to the account from August 1. The same amount has to be paid for transferring funds to another bank account. POSB swipe in and POSB swipe out will have to pay Rs 20 and GST.

According to IPPB, customers will have to pay Rs 20 and GST on transfer of money to post office schemes like Sukanya Samrudhi Account, PPF, RD, LRD. Apart from that, the same charge will be levied for mobile postpaid and bill payment. Also in case of service request, customers will have to re-issue QR code, assist UPI, cash withdrawal and deposit of Rs 20 and pay GST under account services. However, customers do not have to pay for doorstep banking services like opening a new account, paying mobile prepaid bills, getting balance information, adding new nominees.

There is no charge for these features

There is also no charge from the bank's customers for changing the PIN, changing the mobile number or email, paying life insurance premium. According to the bank's notice, no charge will be levied on those who are not its customers but avail services under IPPB's doorstep banking. The bank provides AEPS, Direct Money Transfer, Child Enrollment Light Client, Digital Life Certificate services to such customers under Doorstep Banking. No charge will be levied for it at present.
