 The new price of unsubsidised LPG cylinder has been implemented on the first day of the month. From today, cooking gas cylinders have become more expensive by Rs 25.50 per cylinder and a 19-kg commercial cylinder has become Rs 76 more expensive. With the new price hike, a 14.2-kg cylinder has gone up by Rs 140 in the last six months. In Ahmedabad, the price of a new LPG cylinder for non-subsidized domestic use has gone up to Rs 841.50. While for commercial use one has to pay Rs 1562.50 for LPG cylinder.


Gas-cylinder prices rose by Rs 138.50 this year

The price of an LPG cylinder was Rs 694 on January 1 this year in Delhi. On July 1, the price has gone up to Rs 834, an increase of Rs 138.50 per domestic gas cylinder this year. On February 4, the price was hiked to Rs 719 per cylinder. The prices were then fixed at Rs 769 on February 15 and Rs 794 on February 25. On March 1, the price of a cylinder was reduced to Rs 819. It was reduced by Rs 10 in April. Since then, the price has been raised to Rs 834.50 in July.


Prices are fixed on the first day of each month

Government oil marketing companies review gas-cylinder prices on the first of every month. Then decides to increase or decrease the price or keep it stable. Earlier in June, the government had reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder by Rs 122.

The price of domestic gas-cylinder (14.2 kg) has doubled to Rs 834.50 per cylinder in the last seven years. On March 1, 2014, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder was Rs 410.5, which is now Rs 834.50.
