Despite being on TRAI's DND list, 74% of people are receiving SMS, do this to stop it

LocalCircle surveyed 35,000 users in 324 districts of the country

According to the survey, 73% of people receive 4 or more unwanted SMS every day

SMS from companies keep coming on the smartphone every day. It includes many messages from credit cards, shopping, offers and service providers. Often the number goes from 8 to 10. The user gets annoyed by the constant messages. This causes many users to turn on DND (Do Not Disturb) mode in their phones. SMS bothers many users even after turning on this mode.

According to the online platform LocalCircles, 74% of people receive such unwanted messages despite being included in the DND list of the telecom regulatory TRAI.

Most messaging mobile providers

According to a survey by LocalCircle, 74% of people said they were receiving such messages despite being on TRAI's DND list. 26% of people believe that 25% of incoming messages are from a mobile service provider. These include banking, insurance, real estate, shopping, offers and monetization ads in spam SMS.

The DND list is meant to protect the user from annoying calls and SMS, but this is not the case. The survey found that 73% of people receive 4 or more unwanted SMS every day. The local circle survey involved 35,000 people from 324 districts of the country.

How to prevent unwanted messages?

Thus, the easiest way to block all types of SMS is DND, but even after turning it on, if such a message arrives, the user can block such sender.

DND mode

Go to phone settings to turn on this mode. Scroll down and open the DND option. Turn on the features of the mode as per your convenience. Like SMS, you can also turn on this mode for calls.

Block SMS

Assume that you receive unwanted SMS even if you have turned on DND mode. You can then manually block one SMS at a time. You can block any company by going to message settings.

Strict government law

The telecom department is preparing a new roadmap to relieve mobile customers from unwanted calls and SMS. In it, telecom companies cannot make phone calls or SMS to users beyond a certain limit to increase subscribers. If this happens, the caller who annoys the customer will be charged a fine ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 per violation.
