Not only waking up late at night but also sleeping too much can cause dark circles, learn from an expert healthy diet to get rid of it

Not only waking up late at night but also sleeping too much can cause dark circles, learn from an expert healthy diet to get rid of it

There are many remedies for removing blemishes on the face. However, there are some parts of the face that look different because of the blackness. This blackness is caused by acne or due to hyperpigmentation. Most women suffer from dark circles around the lips and eyes.

Swati Mohan, a senior consultant in the dermatology department at Fortis Escorts Hospital, says hyperpigmentation is the cause of darkening of the skin around the mouth and eyes. Due to poor lifestyle, melanin in some parts tends to be more than required, which causes the skin of that part to darken and patches appear.

Excessive sleep can also cause dark circles

Dermatologist Swati says that excessive sleep, excessive fatigue, sitting in front of a TV or computer screen for a long time or waking up late at night or sleeping late can cause dark circles under your eyes. Inadequate sleep can make your skin dull and pale, causing the tissues and blood vessels beneath your skin to appear. Hyperpigmentation can be caused by an allergy or dryness in the eyes.

Prolonged exposure to the sun is the leading cause of hyperpigmentation

According to Dr. Swati, prolonged exposure to the sun is the biggest cause of hyperpigmentation as it helps to increase melanin in your body. Hyperpigmentation can occur at any age and hyperpigmentation can also occur due to advancing age. So wear sunglasses and sunscreen with SPF 30 or 50 whenever you go out.

Adequate sleep and a healthy diet prevent hyperpigmentation

According to Dr. Swati, to avoid this, use good cosmetic items as it can cause drug reaction. Get enough sleep, drink plenty of water and eat a diet rich in vitamin K.
